Self Knowledge Base is a foundation dedicated to Self-Transcendence and Self-Growth. It has a mission in educating people in learning about them selves. This learning can lead individuals to be able to find the roots of negative and damaging emotions, behaviors, and thoughts and to replace them with the ones that are healthier and more productive.  A person who does not know himself can not be aware of his core essence and the magnificence within; consequently, such a person will not be able to be conscious, concerned, and attentive to  himself and his surroundings.

Book Titles

Dr. Rad has written the following books.  More information can be found on www.SKBFPublishing.com

1) Self Discovery

This book has different chapters explaining how one’s culture, upbringing and environment, cultural  roles, emotional state, and gender have an effect in the person’s whole state of being and identity.  The book uses the author, in parts, as an example, to encourage the reader to learn about her/his own background.  It communicates with the reader that one has to learn about all these parts of identity,   get to know them, process them , accept them, and go through filtration process based on rational ways of thinking in order to be able to move on in the process of life.  This movement and change only occur after one steps out of the denial and avoidance and faces reality. Therefore, the book discourages denying and avoiding these parts because what you do not know, what you avoid, or what you deny in you will control you rather than you having control over.

2) Rumi & Self Psychology

(Psychology of Tranquility)

This book has a number of chapters on Rumi’s poems,  Carl Jung’s concepts of the Self, self-discovery, self-actualization, self-liberation, self –determination, self-assertion, self-discipline, toward emotional stability, and toward acts of giving.  Each chapter offers an explanation of the concept,  a series of Rumi’s poems related to the concepts, and a series of famous quotes relating to each one.   Rumi who was a poet and a scholar was named as one of the few people who acted as the bridge between the west and the east.   Carl Jung who was a psychiatrist was named by many as the bridge between psychology and spirituality.  This book combines these two extra-ordinary human being’s concepts in an attempt to help the reader become familiar with her or him self.

3) Sara's Therapy: A session by session therapy dialogue with an educated woman who went through  the self-actualization processes.

This book is about a client whose attempt was to climb up the pyramid of self growth. Through therapy, learning about her life, bringing her supressed memories out, stepping out of denial, and through self knowledge; she was able to step in her path of self discovery.  She was a completely different person. The dialogue of each session is put in as a book.

This book will be coming out in 2008.

4) Rumi's children book.

This book is about Rumi's life and is designed for children. This book will be coming out in 2008.
