Self Knowledge Base & Foundation
We are currently seeking students working on their master or doctorate degree in the
subjects of psychology, social work, counseling or related areas.
We offer individual and group trainings and encourage our students to be an active
participant of the process of their clients' healing. This includes targeting their own client
when appropriate, getting involved with their clients lives by doing home base work when
needed, and helping clients enhance their life style by offering support. In addition, we
encourage our students to be flexible with the time, place, and the method in which they
meet with their clients since many of these clients are at a point in their lives where having a
regular in-office therapy session is not reasonable.
Our goal is to help students get a full experience of their clients' life. This will give students
an opportunity to be able to help from a more root oriented and multi modal standpoint.
Students will be supervised by a clinician which can be selected from their school or from
our organization. We also provide regular supervised group sessions in which all students
share their experience and benefit from each other’s input.
This is a great opportunity for students who are looking for flexibility and who like to be
involved in the counseling from a multidimensional perspective.
The goal of our organization is to help families who cannot afford therapy services and as a
result avoid seeking help to receive some type of lending hand, mostly free of charge to
them. We encourage and assist our students to work with low income families who are
located throughout the community including churches and mosques to bring an atmosphere
of cooperation between the two.
