How to Help Us
Self Knowledge Base & Foundation
Many people ask us how they can help our organization, or if they feel like they benefited from our
free of charge information, they want to give something back.  Self Knowledge Base does not take
any financial contribution or gifts but encourages its participants to do one of the following if they
want to help.

We are all innately thirsty to help.  Sometime, the way our life goes, we just forget it.  But, if we
take a moment and look within, we will see that the thirst is there.  We don’t have to all be Nobel
Prize winners, or some title on a cover, we can make a change in our own way.  Depending on
what we are good at, what strengths we have, what interests us (we do better when we do
anything with interest, the impact is more intense).   Here are just some ideas, please feel free to
create your own ideas as well, as long as you are sure they are really helping our Earth both in the
short and the long run.  Be curious  when  wanting  to do something beneficial,  make sure you
investigate it to know it has no underlying  negative impacts and effects.  If we don’t do it
consciously with responsible choices, it is better if we don’t do anything at all.  Sometimes having
no impact is the best way to go especially if our ego is categorizing our negative impact as a
positive one.   We have some examples of ways to help just to give some idea. There are many
ways to do this.  On a regular base, we need translators to translate and type our educational
material for distribution, we are interested in all languages specifically Arabic and Farsi. In addition,
we need volunteers to help us with distributing brochures and educational material in targeted areas.
Please contact us at info@selfknowledgebase.com  to get more information.  Below is a list of
other things you can do to make a positive impact.

1. Plant a tree anywhere you feel is suitable to do so.    If you’re not sure, ask appropriate agencies
in your area.  To get some ideas go to http://www.treehelp.com/howto/howto-plant-a-tree.asp  or
find other useful tools.

2. Clean a river, a neighborhood, a street, a park or any other place accessible.

3. Give educational books to a child and tell them about the book.  Exp. Boarders has a  program
where you can donate books to children and they will deliver.   Other sites www.firstbook.org/
www.booksindeed.org/  Please note that these are recommendations, we do not have any
partnership with these organizations.

4. Join a volunteer organization in your neighborhood and do something positive.  Please note that
these are just recommendation and we do not have any partnership with these groups. You can
check out http://www.americorps.gov/  or    http://www.peacecorps.gov/ or    http://www.
friendsofvista.org/   or http://www.voa.org/   or   other organization of your choice.

5. Car pool if you can.   Some sites you can use are http://www.erideshare.com/  or  http://www.
carpoolconnect.com/  or  http://www.carpoolworld.com/

6. Sponsor a child for education.

7. Stop yourself when judging someone or something without having enough factual knowledge.

8. Recycle all your paper and plastic. Learn and educate a friend about the importance of recycling.

9. Donate whatever you have no use for since there is always someone who needs what you don’t.

10. Get to know or learn about someone or something you discriminate against.

11.  Write a letter of acknowledgement to your government representative focusing on what
positive they are doing and how it is being helpful.  Be a positive advocate for improvement and get
involved in your own way. Too many times we focus on sending a complaint to authorities while
disregarding the positive they are doing.  But communication has to be both ways, focusing on
positive and negative.

The links we provide above are just examples; we do not have any special preferences and/or relationships to the
above links. You can do your own investigation. Remember, investigation is an important part of the giving process.
If you just want to give without this part, you might want to question your act and re think whether what you are
doing is really helpful from a deeper perspective and in the long run.
