Would mental and emotional training help me in any way? Ask yourself these questions: 1. Do I feel like I am doing the best I can but still do not feel content with my life as I would like to? 2. Do I struggle with confidence despite having a lot going on for me? 3. Do I fear unreasonable fear or anxiety in social or personal situations that I would like to get rid off? 4. Am I unsure of my life’s goals and priorities and how to put them in order to make sure the chain of events do not block each other? 5. Are there times where you feel like you may lose your motivation in an area of your life where you need to be focused? 6. Do you find yourself thinking or feeling negatively too much and for long periods of time? 7. Do you feel like you have too much going on and need an expert support to be able to balance these out? 8. Do you need to establish mental or emotional resiliency? 9. Can the people in your circle whether family or friends learn to have stronger communication skills? 10. Do you need to learn to become a leader? If I see a psychology consultant, would that mean I am weak? This happens to be exactly the opposite. It takes courage and certain level of mental and emotional maturity to be able to realize that you want to make the most of your potential and bring about all your strengths while understanding your limitations. They are an increasing number of well functioning and extremely successful people who are attracting to consultation for that extra expert oriented support. Is psychology consultation for individuals who are depressed or have a disorder? There are many types of psychology professionals. Clinical psychologists are licensed psychologists who may choose to work with individuals who have a mental disorder like depression, eating disorders, substance abuse, and family problems. I do a combination of both clinical and coaching. I work based on positive psychology which is not necessary focused on a disorder but brining the best in everyone. I can be categorized as a mental or emotional coach. Many people prefer coaching since it is more cost effective and shorter. How long do sessions take? Sessions can go from 30-90 minutes, but an average session is about 45-60 minutes. How long does it take to see any change? This depends on how badly you want the change to happen. You must be willing to participate in the process, do the work I give you, challenge your mind set, evaluate your emotions, and be open to positive change and growth. Consultant are not the ones who change your life, you are. They just provide the tools, support, and guidance. |
